Huge Crowd of Tatur Tots Storm Lake Keystone
Over 65 trail runners gathered at Lake Keystone for five miles of some challenging yet fantastic trails. Join the Tots every Sunday at 7:30am. Most weeks we meet up at Turkey Mountain, but once or twice a month the group will take a trail field trip to local area trails.

Tatur is proud to report that we have two new reporters, Randy Ellis and Tom Dorothy.
Message from the reporters. WE WANT YOUR TIME!!
We are going to post the race times for all TATUR members on the TATUR website, including pictures and short stories when possible. We need your help. When you run a race, please e-mail the pertinent information (race name, date, distance and your time) to either Randy Ellis (rellis1132@aol.com) or Tom Dorothy (tomdogsteam@att.net). If it's a PR or first-time distance, let us know. If you can, attach pictures and/or include a short write up, we will include them.
We also would like to track significant upcoming races. If you are planning to run, or have entered, an upcoming event such as Athens-Big Fork Marathon or Rock Racoon 100/50 miler, let Randy or Tom know and we will put your article and pictures on the website, newsletter and mass emails.
We want to keep all TATURs informed on what its members are doing. We appreciate your help!!

Tatur Tots - Trail Run Training This Sunday Try out some trail running. Every Sunday morning Tatur has guided trail runs for all speeds and abilities. Distances range from 2- 10 miles. We will have a pace group for everyone and our motto is that no one gets left behind. While most of the runs will be on Turkey Mountain, once a month, we will take field trips to trails in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri. There is no charge for the training and you do NOT have to be a Tatur member to join us. Click here for more questions. |

Tatur Snake Run - Three of Six Hour Trail Race Saturday March 19 - Turkey Mountain - 9am This unique race will be a six hour or three hour timed run taking place on mostly flat, rock and root free, single track trails on the western side of Turkey mountain. The run will start March 19th, 2011 at 9:00 am, and finish at either noon or 3:00 pm. The course will head northwest from the old upper parking lot following some of the trails used in the Turkey and Taturs race, then north onto the Snake Trail. These are some of the smoothest and easiest trails on the "mountain". We also have taken great pains to remove all of the larger snakes from the course. Just kidding. Actually, the snake trail gets its name because it winds around like a snake, not because of an infestation of slithery reptiles! |
Tatur's Lake McMurtry 12K/25K/50K Trail Run Saturday April 2 - Lake McMurtry - 8am 50K -$60, $50-25K, $30 - 12K. Tech shirts & medals for the FIRST 200 entrants. Fast course & "smooth" trails. Sign up at RunnersWorld Tulsa or online. Extremely well marked course. Beautiful scenery. 1 hr, early start for 50K available. Post race dinner and much more. Training run for OKC Marathon. |

TATUR TOTS
Most weeks the Tatur TOT training runs have attracted 50-6 0 trail running enthusiasts, many who are newcomers to running trails. We usually break up into groups ranging from speedsters to walkers.
Most groups run anywhere from 2-8 miles. a The run leaders are very familiar with the twisting turning pathes and are able top accomodate all varying athletic ablitlites.

These jerseys are 100% digital sublimation jerseys that are great for running, cycling, triathlons, etc. We only ordered 25 mens and 25 womens and we expect them to sell fast. TATUR Gives Out Over $21,000 to Charities
On Sunday October 17, Tatur threw a party. The occasion was twofold. One was to honor all the hardworking individuals who have volunteered and supported the many Tatur races in 2010.
The other reason to have the party was to give out the proceeds from the Turkey & Tatur's Trail Race and the TATUR Mud Run.
A check for over $3,000 was given to Andrew Albrecht from the Westside YMCA to go towards allowing underprivileged kids attend a summer camp at the scenic Westside YMCA and Camp Takatoka.
Next Tatur gave John Wintle from the Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp a check for over $18,000 to benefit kids who have been burned by fire and have disfiguring marks on their bodies. The money is used for a five day summer camp at Dry Gulch USA near Pryor.
Tatur thanks all the volunteers and people who help us put on these great races and allow us to give such great contributions to the many wonderful causes that we benefit.

The New TATUR Committee
Wednesday January 5th - 7am - DoubleShot Coffee at 18th & Boston
Tatur is starting a new committee to help organize events, membership, fundraisers, training runs and much more. There will not be any "official" positions i.e, president, secratary, etc. Rather it will just be a group of people who want to see trail and ultra running events become more prevalant in the Tulsa area.
Anyone is welcome to attend these meeting which will be held the first Wednesday of every month at 7am. On the agenda for the December 1st meeting is:

- Mother Road 100 & Aid Station
- TATUR 100 mile race
- Re-Branding
- Tatur jerseys and shirts
- Trail cleanup
- Revamping membership
