Anna Eller - Lucky 13.1 - Full Advanced 9-10 min/mile
All Run Leaders
Anna Eller
Hi! My name is Anna Eller and I am the current run leader for the “Lucky 13 (point one)” half marathon group. I’m 25 years old and am a 3rd grade teacher at Lee Elementary School in Tulsa. I grew up running track and cross country at Booker T. Washington High School and after suffering from severe arthritis during my senior year, had to hang up my running shoes for a while.
After college, I started teaching and decided to give running another go. I participated in several 5k and 10k races around Tulsa with my students and realized how much a missed running. In the spring of 2008, I ran my first half marathon in Oklahoma City and LOVED it. I was hooked. Since then, I’ve completed 4 half marathons and 2 full marathons. Right now, I’m in the lottery for the 2010 New York City Marathon and ultimately want to run a half or full marathon in all 50 states.
I’m a born and bred Oklahoman, living in Tulsa my entire life. I went to the University of Tulsa for my undergraduate degree in education and visual arts, and am currently working on my Master’s in Health and Human Performance at Oklahoma State University. I am the second-oldest of six, and the only runner…but I’m trying my hand at training my older sister for her first half marathon via e-mail and phone calls.
This is my first year to be a run leader, and I am so pumped about working with my group! Hopefully, from my past experiences with training for races, I can help motivate my group and make them successful runners. I have a strong love for running and want people to share my love and have a lot of fun!
