Course Description

Five 10.3 mile alternating direction loops along the newly renovated River Parks trail system.
Course follows the Arkansas River's east and west bank.
95% paved asphalt running trail (1 foot wide chat section along trail edge on some of the trail).
Possibiltity of trail construction on a small section of the course - some running in dirt or grass may be required.
Two steep back to back hills from mile 5.3 to mile 6.0
One long gradual downhill from mile 6.0 to mile 7.3
Scenic tree-lined, divided bike and runner trails.
Actual distance of course is 51.5 miles (10.3 mile loops)
Eight water fountains are dispersed in aproximately one mile increments along the 10.3 mile loop.

Aid Stations

Course will have two fully manned aid stations and two unmanned water stops.
Manned aid staiton at the start/finish.
Manned aid station at mile six at the Turkey Mountain parking lot.
Unmanned aid stations located near mile three and mile eight

Unmanned water stops will have ONLY water/Gatorade and pretzels.

Both manned aid stations will have the following items:

Beer !
Boiled Potatos
Sandwiches (Ham & Cheese & PB&J's)
Pretzels
Cookies
Chips
M&M's
Bananas
Coke, Sprite Lemon Lime Gatorade and water.
Ibuprofen, band aids, and petroleum jelly

Manned aid stations may have other items. No Gu, Shot Blox, Sport Beans or other energy supplements will be avaiible. Blister kits will only be at the start/finish. Start finish will also have ice water sponges if it is hot and humid.

Drop Bags

Drop Bags will only be allowed at the start/finsh and the 6 mile aid station (Turkey Mountain).
Turkey Mountain drop bags must be CLEARLY LABELED Turkey Mtn. and must be in the designated area at the start finish line by 11:30 P.M. or they will not be transported by race personel. They will remain at the start/finish.
Drop bags must be labeled both race number and full name with waterproof marker and bag must be waterproof. We cannot gaurantee that the drop bags will be in a coverd locaton.
No size limits for drop bags.
Drop Bags become supplies for next years race if not picked up after race. Drop bags will not be mailed.
