General Information

The Lake McMurtry Trail Race is proudly going into it's 14th year. The race was started in 1999 by Earl Blewett. Earl saw the beauty of Lake McMurtry with it's gorgeous scenery, soft, beginner friendly trail system, spectacular lake views and reputation for ha ving some of the best trails in the state of Oklahoma for both running as well as mountain biking.

In 2009 Earl turned the race over to the Tatur organization and it's new race director Ken Childress. Ken has done a fantastic job of keeping the quality, history and tradtion of the Lake McMurtry Trail Race alive.

Race Info

50K (31.1 miles) $65- Start time is 8 A.M. (Early start availible at 7 A.M.)

25K (15.5 miles) $55- Start time is 8:30 A.M.

12K (7.5 miles) - $35 - Start time is 9 A.M.

All races have a nine hour time limit.

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for 20 volunteers to help with the following activities:Volunteers Needed

  • Aid Station workers
  • Finish line timing staff
  • Course marshalls
  • Trail markers & maintenance
  • Various other duties
